Hi all,
I know the first two games seemed a little rough but there were some really bright spots in there and I see lots of potential in this team! After our first couple of innings the defense really started to come together and make good plays. Now we just need our offense to come together. It is typical for new teams to go through this especially with limited people on the team that have experience playing slow pitch. Just to give you an idea, the first season of vote for pedro was (5-6). Last fall our record was (11-1). The second team that we played yesterday is the best team in the Sunday league and those first 4 innings we were holding them to 2 or 3 runs. If we can get the offense to do the same that would have been a close game. I do see great potential in our offense. We have the power we just need to straighten it out. For defense our outfield will be able to better adjust for different players with experience. It will come! Overall I think everyone played really well!
Our next game is on May 6th at 6pm at Connell #1 (across from #2) against a team that last summer had a record of (7-5). Slightly above the median. Please let me know by Wednesday if you can make this game!
Emails about our next practices will be appearing in your mailboxes soon.
Thanks,
Nicole
